QA Engineer

As QA Engineer, you safeguard the quality of everything our engineering teams ship. You act as a shared testing resource for Team Platform, building and maintaining automated test frameworks and covering E2E, API and performance testing, using your expertise in test automation. Together with our development, QA and DevOps teams, you make sure quality is embedded throughout the entire delivery lifecycle. And you don't just focus on catching today's defects: you look for ways to make the testing process itself faster and more reliable.

Time to grow. Time to thrive.

We are Nmbrs. We build smart business software that removes unnecessary complexity for SMEs and the professionals who support them. Nmbrs brings together four established product organisations - Payroll, Accounting, Invoicing and Reporting - with teams across the Netherlands, Sweden and Portugal.

We are one brand with a shared ambition, while continuing to work from the expertise and strengths of our individual organisations. We join forces where it makes sense, while keeping teams, expertise and decision-making close together.

For this role, you'll join Nmbrs Accounting in Rotterdam, working closely with the colleagues in your local team while being part of the wider Nmbrs organisation.

Your role

You join Team Platform, the technical backbone that supports all other development teams with the tools, infrastructure and processes they need to develop effectively. Your mission as QA Engineer is to function as a shared resource, supporting our development teams by maintaining automated frameworks and performing E2E, API and performance testing - ensuring product quality across the entire delivery lifecycle.

You are responsible for the quality and reliability of our test automation, and work closely with development, QA and DevOps teams to make sure testing is embedded throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

In practice, you will:

  • Design, develop and maintain automated test frameworks to ensure robustness and efficiency in our testing process.

  • Implement end-to-end (E2E) tests that provide comprehensive functional and regression coverage for our applications.

  • Perform API testing to thoroughly validate backend services and integrations, ensuring data integrity and system reliability.

  • Conduct performance and load testing to ensure application scalability and stability under varying load conditions.

  • Develop and execute behaviour-driven (BDD) test scenarios that bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders and clarify requirements.

  • Integrate automated tests into our Azure CI/CD pipelines, enabling continuous delivery and fast feedback on code quality.

Your impact

Your work creates the safety net our entire engineering organisation relies on. When you build a faster, more reliable E2E suite, every development team ships with more confidence - and issues get caught before they ever reach our customers.

You also help embed quality across the full Software Development Life Cycle by collaborating closely with development, QA and DevOps teams, and by identifying, analysing and reporting defects that drive continuous improvement in both our product and our engineering processes.

You bring

You bring strong, hands-on experience in test automation and know how to translate that into robust, maintainable test frameworks. You are comfortable working across the full testing spectrum - from E2E to API to performance - and enjoy collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong experience with E2E testing tools, specifically Playwright, for comprehensive test automation.

  • Experience with API testing using tools like Postman, RestSharp ,SoapUI or similar, to effectively validate backend services and integrations.

  • Solid experience with performance and load testing using JMeter or similar industry-standard tools, to ensure system scalability.

  • Hands-on experience with C# and .NET, and Typescript including developing and maintaining automated test frameworks and test scripts.

  • Proven ability to implement BDD principles using frameworks like SpecFlow or Reqnroll.

  • Strong familiarity with integrating automated tests into Azure pipelines and managing code using Git for CI/CD and version control.

  • Experience designing and implementing maintainable test automation using architectural patterns, particularly the Page Object Model (POM).

You don't need to tick every possible box. If you recognise yourself in the role and believe you can make an impact, we'd like to hear from you.
